NOTE: History of Santa Clara Co.:

N.C. Fowler. Born in Hendricks county, Indiana, November 22, 1838. when
five years of age he was taken by his parents to Atchison county,
Missouri. In 1852 he crossed the plains to California with his father,
William Fowler, and located in Yolo county, where the subject of this
sketch engaged in stock-raising until he came to Santa Clara county in
November 1879, and located on his present ranch comprising one hundred
and sixty acres situated on the Los Huecos Grant. Married January
15,1877 and has an only child, Nelson C., born December 1, 1879.
